Selby OAPs lose cheap train fares -From April 1st, Selby District Council is withdrawing funding for subsidised rail travel for the over-65s and those registered as disabled living.
Selby MP John Grogan said: "Just as the Government is for the first time putting pensioners and the disabled in Selby district on the same footing as pensioners and the disabled in West Yorkshire as regards bus travel, the district council is widening the gap in terms of the rail concessions available to them.
To read the full story click here Green light for green composting plant - John has welcomed news that Mytum of Selby has got the green light to go ahead with a £30 million fully enclosed composting system at the Maltings site at South Milford. John said:
“I am a great believer in basing decisions on the facts. Over a year ago I and local residents asked for an independent environmental report to be commissioned about Mytum’s plans.... local people can now have full confidence in the proposed process.”
